In 1987, New England Lobster Company was founded in the back of a pickup truck. At that time, it was selling 300 pounds of live and cooked lobster a week delivering to San Francisco, Napa, San Jose, and Monterey.
Now, in 2020, it is a preferred supplier for live Maine lobster west of the Mississippi with a 250,000-pound holding capacity. Lobsters ranging in size from one to fifteen pounds are flown in almost daily from our partners in Nova Scotia to our facility in Burlingame where all of the lobsters and other products are stored and processed. Also featured at this location are live holding tanks with a 75,000-pound capacity and a processing room to cook and pick lobster and crab meat. And, on any given day, New England Lobster can have up to 10,000 pounds of live lobster in transit to restaurants, supermarkets, hotels, cruise lines, wholesalers, country clubs, and nonprofit organizations.
Live lobsters are available all year round, sized to the specific needs of our customers. We also offer cooked lobster and lobster tails as well as fresh and frozen lobster meat.
